You can make a complaint by simply clicking on the ‘Make a complaint’ button on this page.

Before you can use our service, the company you are complaining about must first be given the opportunity to sort out the dispute. Companies have eight weeks to do this.

You can come to us if you are a consumer and:

  • you are complaining about a chartered surveying company or a surveyor that has provided, or is contracted to provide, a surveying service to you;
  • you have relied upon the surveying services of a chartered surveyor or a surveyor which is a participating company;
  • you are an actual or potential buyer or seller of a residential property who has complained about an estate agent that has provided, failed to provide, or is contracted to provide, a service to you;
  • you have a complaint against a letting or residential managing agent that has provided, or is contracted to provide, a service to you; or
  • you have a complaint about the services of another property professional (for example an auctioneer or a registered valuer); or

Someone else can bring the complaint to us for you. We are happy to deal with them if you give them permission in writing.

Putting things right

When we have all the information about your complaint, we will decide how best to handle it. If we propose a remedy that you're happy with, the firm will be required to put this in place and we will make sure that this happens.
