From 2002 to 2007, Lewis was the Crown appointed Scottish Public Services Deputy Ombudsman and a member of the Executive Board at the Scottish Public Service Ombudsman. He is a priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and has served congregations in Motherwell, Shetland and Dumfries and was a canon of St Andrew's Cathedral Aberdeen. Lewis was a member of the Shetland Islands Council from 1990-1999 and Convener/Leader from 1994-1999. He is a former Vice-President of COSLA (the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) and represented the UK on the European Committee of the Regions. He was on the Executive of the Constitutional Convention and a member of the Highlands and Islands Convention. Lewis was Chair of the Management Committee of Shetland College, served on the UHI Steering Group, was a Director of UHI Ltd and has been a board member or trustee for a number of organisations including Scottish Homes and Dumfries and Galloway College. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Lewis joined Ombudsman Services as Chief Ombudsman and Chief Executive in 2009. |

Susan Fox is Policy and Communications Director at Ombudsman Services. Listed as one of the top 100 most influential PR people in the PR Week Power Book, Susan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and was one of the first to gain Chartered PR status. Before joining Ombudsman Services, Susan was Corporate Affairs Director with the Information Commissioner’s Office, covering data protection and freedom of information. Prior to that, Susan worked with the Environment Agency as Corporate Affairs Manager in the North West region, as Customer Communications Manager with GUS Home Shopping, and was Public Relations Manager at Unilever. Susan is a graduate of Exeter University and Manchester Metropolitan University. |

Tracey worked as a senior manager in the in the telecommunications sector for 10 years. During her time in this industry she spent the majority of her time leading areas within the operation. These included voice and email customer service, back office departments and a retention department. She also managed delivery of service through outsourced relationships both onshore and offshore. Tracey has an in depth experience of complaint handling and customer satisfaction. During her time in this sector Tracey was part of a senior leadership team that delivered the National Customer Service Contact Centre of the Year, Northwest Contact Centre of the Year and were No 1 for JD Power Customer Satisfaction. Tracey played a leading organizational role in business in the community activity. This included setting up and leading a community crew programme. This team went on to win the Northwest Business in the Community award. Tracey has also worked in project management roles covering process improvement, business continuity, audit and compliance. |

Dr Sills took responsibility for Energy Ombudsman complaints from the start of the service in 2006. He is currently working with our other ombudsmen to pass on his experience in this role while he leads on other specialist projects for the organisation. Richard Sills graduated from Birmingham University with a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry before joining the UK Atomic Energy Authority and transferring to British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL). He worked in all of the principal areas of the company's business, including as General Manager of an advanced ceramics company, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of BNFL Inc. in Washington DC. On leaving BNFL, he worked for a small radioactive waste handling company and also as a freelance consultant in energy and the environment. In 1996, he was appointed as the first Chief Executive of Entrust, the regulator of the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme, and joined the Telecommunications Ombudsman Service in 2002 as Project Manager, for assisting the Council and Ombudsman in setting up the organisation. He was appointed as Director of Operations for the Service, becoming an Ombudsman in July 2006. Richard is a non-executive director of Networking for Industry, a not-for-profit company which helps coordinate several Parliamentary/Industry groups, including waste management, health, design and manufacturing. |
